Things to Remember Before Porting { Airtel mobile number portability }

 

  • You can port prepaid current number to postpaid number or Vice Versa.

 

  • You can port to any network, but you must complete 90 days in the current network otherwise you need to wait another 90 days from the day of activation.

 

  • You can port current location to another location.

 

  • The porting process will take up to 7 days.

 


 

How to Port to Airtel

 

  • SMS METHOD

 

This is the easiest method to port a sim and you can complete the initial process within a minutes.

If you are eligible to port, then obtain the Unique Porting Code by sending an SMS from your number which you want to port.

 

At first, open your message and send an SMS

 

SMS PORT<space><your current mobile number> to 1900

 

That’s it.You successfully generate Unique Porting Code(UPC)


 

  • CALL METHOD

 

This is another method, you can port your sim by calling to customer care.

 

Call on 1900 and follow the porting steps by customer care instruction.

 

Once you receive 8 digit UPC code, Gather the required documents.You need ID proof, address proof, and one passport size photo.

 

Now visit your nearest service provider showroom along with the required documents.

 

Fill out the mobile number porting form and Get new SIM card.

 

The new SIM will activate within 1 week time.
